Rick Gendron is the principal of 818 Studio, leading the firm’s culture and direction with a focus on site planning, design, and project management.
Rick, a distinguished landscape architect, has dedicated over 25 years to the creation of spaces that are not only visually appealing but also functional and sustainable. His professional journey commenced in Manitoba, where he gained invaluable experience working for design-build contractors while earning his graduate degree in landscape architecture. This foundational experience equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the nuances of design and construction, enabling him to integrate these elements seamlessly in his subsequent projects.
Upon completion of his graduate studies, Rick relocated to Arkansas to join MESA Landscape Architects, specializing in zoo design. This unique opportunity allowed him to delve into the intersection of natural and built environments, thereby refining his design skills and deepening his understanding of landscape architecture.
In the early 2000s, Rick embarked on a significant new phase in his career by establishing 818 Studio Ltd. Under his stewardship for two decades, the studio has evolved into a respected design firm renowned for its innovative and sustainable designs.
Rick’s project management style is characterized by a high degree of collaboration. He firmly subscribes to the belief that valuable ideas and insights can originate from any source. This inclusive approach cultivates a creative and dynamic work environment, encouraging team members to contribute their unique perspectives and ideas.
