September 10, 2024 - mddl co-hosts The City of Kelowna's Infill Housing Symposium with The City of Kelowna, Canadian Home Builders' Association, and Urban Development Institute BC, an event sharing information on Kelowna's fast-track housing designs, the Province's regulatory changes, and discussion with experts on navigating infill housing developments.

June 29, 2024 - UC Berkeley Speaking Event  - Topic: Can middle housing actually help solve the crisis?

June 27, 2024 - Supported the launch of The City of Kelowna's Infill Housing Fast Track Program featuring 4 different standardized designs that apply to over 1,300 unique lot types that have historically seen little redevelopment over the years.

April 16, 2024 - Urban Land Institute Speaking Event  - Topic: How do we solve the housing at Platform Innovation Center

April 10-11, 2024 - Attended the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA) Conference, and participated in the Houser's Den, a dynamic and interactive event designed to support and encourage innovative housing featuring projects that were submitted to Round 5 of the CMHC Housing Supply Challenge. Hosted by Julie McNamara, CHRA’s Director of Programs, Partnerships, and Events, Houser's Den takes inspiration from the popular TV show, Dragons' Den, and will feature a live presentation of innovative housing projects. The event focused on community-driven initiatives that align with CMHC's objectives related to fostering affordable and sustainable housing solutions.

MARCH, 2024

mddl is selected as a Semi-Finalist in CMHC's Housing Supply Challenge, Round 5 (Level Up). Level-Up is addressing the entrenched housing affordability crisis in Canada. To increase housing productivity, we must transform the housing sector to meet the nation's housing needs more swiftly and cost-effectively. Level-Up’s goal is to scale system-level solutions like skill enhancement, automation, and streamlined supply chains to expedite housing provision. Successful solutions will lead to quicker development, reduced costs, and permanent improvements in Canada's housing delivery process.
